This was part of making the poor from Jharkhand districts affected by left wing extremism (LWE) employable.
A central government programme, 'Roshni' is a special initiative for 27 extremist-hit districts in nine states, training 54,036 youth as skilled hands.
Out of this, 21,511 youths are being trained in Jharkhand alone, according to a release by Ministry of Rural Development's "Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yozana (DDU-GKY). The release would develop skill for inclusive growth and shifting people from poverty to productivity.
They were trained by organizations like IKYA Human Capital, Cap Foundation and 'Mas Infotech Society' at fully residential, well-equipped facilities, manned by industry experts and academically qualified faculty in a three-month programme.
Union Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Choudhary Birendra Singh and Chief Minister Raghubar Das co-chaired the "first convocation of trainees of DDU-GKY".
Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda urged to increase the total number of trainees to three times that would prevent migration.
