Government has plans to set up 2,000 huge digital 'cinema screens' across Rajpath for people to witness the live streaming of the performance of yoga asanas on Sunday.

Besides Delhi, the yoga event will held on a large scale in Lucknow, Kolkata and Patna which will be streamed live on Doordarshan and through webcast.

Besides the nearly 40,000 participants, the event will see the presence of 75 diplomats, a government spokesperson said here.

Department of Post is going to launch a stamp on June 21 to mark International Day of Yoga while Finance Ministry will be bringing out coins of the denomination of Rs 10 and Rs 100.

Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha today reviewed the preparedness of the mega event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak.

Top officials of various central ministries and departments made a presentation about the preparedness.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has informed that 24 cameras of Doordarshan are being set up to cover the event on the lines of Republic Day parade.

Sinha said that despite heavy security arrangements, the common man planning to attend the event should not face undue problems and paramedical staff with ambulances should be ready to deal with contingencies.

The yoga celebrations are being held in the national capital after the United Nations had in December last year declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, with 177 countries voting in favour.

The proposal had been mooted by the Prime Minister during his first address to the UN General Assembly in September last year.
