Acting on a specific information, police yesterday laid a check post at Narwal area of the city and intercepted a truck.
During checking of the truck, 14 kg of poppy straw was recovered from it following which Mohammad Javed, driver of the vehicle and Raj Kumar were arrested, police said.
The accused had brought the consignment from Srinagar to distribute it among the youth, they said.
A case has been registered in this regard, the police officer said, adding that investigation is on.
