A woman has been arrested from her rented house here for possessing contraband worth Rs 74 lakh, police said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Mizoram police apprehended a 38-year-old woman on Wednesday, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Khasi Hills district, Claudia Lyngwa, said.
The woman, identified as Vansosiem, is a resident of Saiden village in Manipur's Churachandpur district, the SP said, the accused was staying at Demthring area of the city. The ANTF has seized 32 soap cases containing powder, suspected to be heroin, the SP said, adding, the powder weighed nearly 400 gram.
The accused person's accomplice was also arrested from a different location, the SP said.
