At least two persons were killed today in a roadside blast in Pakistan's troubled northwestern tribal region, police said.
Two local traders were killed in the Improvised Explosive Device blast on Kulachi-Loni road in Dera Ismail Khan district in Khyber-Pakthunkwa bordering South Waziristan, they said.
The victims were passing through the area when their motorcycle struck an IED, police sources said, adding explosives were planted to target law enforcement personnel.
In a separate incident at FR Jandola Bazaar near the South Waziristan tribal agency, a paramilitary soldier was killed by unidentified gunmen.
The deceased was on leave when he was shot dead in main Jandola Bazaar.
