With this, the total number of trains on this line has increased to 22.
"The move is aimed at better passenger handling, especially at the interchange station of Central Secretariat," a DMRC spokesperson said.
Till now, only one platform was being used for boarding and deboarding at Central Secretariat station of Line-6.
However, with the introduction of these two additional trains, passengers can now avail the trains from both the platforms alternately for going towards Badarpur.
"This move has also ensured the increase in frequency of trains on this line from 3 minutes 44 seconds to 3 minutes 25 seconds and trains will also run 13 extra trips making it a total of 401 trips," the spokesperson said.
