2 teenagers hurt as car rams into cemetery gate

Two teenagers were seriously hurt after their car rammed the gate of a cemetery in southeast Delhi's Nizamuddin, police said today.
The duo identified as Saheb Singh (19) and Saheb Preet (18), both residents of Lajpat Nagar, was involved in the accident which took place last night at around 10.45 PM. The two teenagers were taken to hospital, where Singh's condition is stated to be critical, said a senior police official.
The duo was headed towards Lajpat Nagar when Singh, who was driving, lost control and crashed the car into the gate of the cemetery. Locals informed the police and took the duo to Moolchand Hospital, where Singh went into a coma, the official said.
A case has been registered under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act of endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC, police said while ruling out any drunk driving angle.
The families of the two were informed immediately and the car has been impounded, he added.
