According to police, the two youths have been identified as Dushyant and Samir, residents of Jahidpur village here. Police said that the duo was returning from school on the bike when the truck hit them from behind.
The two youngsters died on the spot while the driver of the truck fled the scene after the accident, police said.
The accident led to protests by the locals who held up traffic on the Meerut-Hapur road and also damaged some vehicles.
Police said that the bodies of the two youngsters have been sent for post-mortem and added that a case has been registered against the driver of the truck.
Police are also trying to identify those who were involved in damaging the vehicles during the protest.
