This scheme will be implemented in seven districts of Panipat, Bhiwani, Hisar, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ambala and Rohtak.
The skill training would be provided by the Technical Education Department and also through empanelled training providers in the sectors of weaving, spinning, knitting, garments, dyeing, block printing, embroidery, handloom and carpet, an official release said here today.
It said that the duration of the training would be around four to six months and the cost of training would be borne by the government.
For the training, existing infrastructure of polytechnics would be utilised. Registration charges of Rs 500 per trainee would be charged and stipend of Rs 1,000 would be given to them after successful completion of the training.
Preference would be given to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Minorities, Women, school dropouts, persons with disability and those living Below the Poverty Line.
