20-yr-old girl kidnapped from market in Punjab

A 20-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped today by three unidentified persons from a crowded market here, prompting police to sound a red alert.
The incident took place when the girl was going to the Government Industrial Training Institute with her younger sister.
As she reached near Taj place on Kahnowan road, one of the accused entered into a verbal spat with her. When she resisted his advances, he dragged her inside an open jeep without registration number plate and drove towards Simble Chowk.
Some of the passersby tried to chase the miscreants but they managed to flee.
On the statement of the victim's sister, police registered a case under section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) of the IPC against the three persons at civil lines police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Hilori said police has sounded a red alert in the district.
"On the basis of information given by the victim's sister, we are identifying the accused and hopefully within 12 hours, all the accused will be behind the bars," the officer said.
