: Three women, each a celebrity in their respective art forms and well known in the country, will come together on a stage here on October 1 to bless and encourage the next line of artists.
Renowned Koodiyattom performer Maargi Sathi, dancer par excellence Daksha Seth and gifted singer Arundathi will together inaugurate the first anniversary celebrations of 'Kalaangan', a noted dance and music school in the city.
Speaker G Karthikeyan will preside over the function, which would be held at Vylopilly Samskruthi Bhavan here.
Margi Sathi has played a key role in reviving and bringing international acclaim to the traditional art form of Koodiyattom. She popularized the dance-drama tradition of Nangyar koothu.
An icon of unique stature in the world of contemporary dance, Daksha Seth, through her dance academy, has widened the scope of Indian classical dance and has created a varied appeal for the same.
With her remarkable ability to handle with equal ease both classical and light music, Arundhathi, is a distinguished playback singer in Malayalam cinema.
Established dancer Sarada Thampi and noted singer Lekshmi Benson lead the training activities at Kalaangan. The evening will also witness dance and music performances by students of Kalaangan.
