"The accident took place around 5 AM when the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's (MSRTC) 'Asiad' bus that was going from Miraj to Nashik, approached Gurewadi near Sinnar. At that point, the bus collided head-on with the truck, coming in from the opposite direction," a police officer said.
Bus driver Dattatreya Malhari Madam (50) and two passengers identified as Vaishali Vasant Pawar (30) and Manvainda Jadhav (25) died on the spot, he said.
The duo, along with eight others injured were admitted to Sinnar Rural Hospital for treatment, police added.
