3 LS members nominated to Press Council

Three members of the Lok Sabha -- T G Venkatesh Babu, Meenakashi Lekhi and Prathap Simha, have been nominated to the Press Council of India (PCI) by the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
According to the Press Council of India Act, the panel shall consist of a chairman and 28 members.
Out of them, five shall be members of Parliament of whom three will be from the Lok Sabha nominated by the speaker and two from the Upper Housee nominated by the Rajya Sabha chairman
The MPs, whose names were announced in a Lok Sabha bulletin, were Lekhi and Simha from the ruling BJP and Babu is from the AIADMK.
