Acting on a tip off, three persons were nabbed while three others escaped from the spot. The rare polycephalic snake and cash worth Rs 17.49 lakh were recovered from their possession, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Parmendra Singh Dobal said.
The rare snake is two and a half feet long and has a width of two inch, he said.
One of the arrested persons identified as Aslam, a resident of Jorasi village here, came to sell the snake with his associate Sana aka Sahanazar, a resident of Bahadrabad, and an unidentified person, he said.
An FIR has been registered against the accused, the SP said.
The accused will be presented in court tomorrow. The snake would soon be handed over to Rajaji national park authorities, he said.
