3-year-old girl raped by neighbour in Delhi

A three-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in central Delhi's Anand Parbat, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday when the girl was playing outside her home alone and the 22-year-old accused lured her with chocolates. He took her to his shanty.
When the girl's parents could not find her, they started a search. Some neighbours told them that the girl was seen with the accused.
Upon reaching the man's house, the girl's parents and the neighbours found her bleeding and unconscious.
They rushed her to a hospital, where she underwent a surgery, the police said, adding, the girl suffered injuries to her private parts and is currently under observation.

The accused was thrashed by the locals and handed over to the police.

The girl's family lives in a slum cluster in Anand Parbat's Baljeet Nagar. Her father is a rickshaw puller, while her mother works as a domestic help in the locality.
The police said the incident happened around 7.30 AM yesterday. Since her parents were caught up in something, she went out alone.
A local NGO is counselling the girl and her parents.
