Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that 30 additional services by six departments will be offered under the Delhi government's doorstep delivery scheme, including renewal of driving license and permit.
Issuance of concessional bus passes for senior citizens, disabled persons and students; registration of construction workers; issuance of conductor license; renewal and surrender of license have also been included under the initiative.
The scheme, launched in September last year, now covers 100 services offered by 14 Delhi government departments.
Out of 2.89 lakh calls for availing various public services, more than 2.64 lakh were disposed of in a period of one year and three months with a success rate of 91 per cent, Kejriwal said.
"Now citizens don't need to stand in long lines at government offices. It also avoids multiple visits to government offices, leave from work and touts to avail public services," the chief minister said.
This revolutionary initiative in governance has been successful for the last 15 months, he added.
Now, Kejriwal said, there are three ways to get things done at government offices in Delhi.
"First by visiting the government offices, where the success rate is 57 per cent and 43 per cent applications get rejected. Secondly, by applying online, wherein 45 per cent applications get cleared while 55 per cent get rejected.
"The third is doorstep delivery, where the success rate is 91 per cent and only 9 per cent applications get rejected," he said.
Citizens wanting to avail doorstep delivery of services can book an appointment online through www.edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in or www.delhi.gov.in or dial 1076 (24x7 call center). They can also visit the Regional Transport Office or offices of sub-divisional magistrates in Delhi.
