Four persons died while 10 others, including a woman, were injured as the vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off road and plunged on the down road near Zuketsa under Pfutsero sub division of Phek district on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Phek police sources said that 14 persons were travelling in Bolero pick up when the accident occurred.
The actual cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained but it is suspected that the vehicle might have lost control while trying to negotiate steep turn on the mountainous road.
Sources said that three persons died on the spot while one succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.
All the victims are from Leshemi village under Pfutsero sub-division in Phek district, police said.
Travelers and police rushed the injured to different hospitals in Kohima.
