4 TV news channels issued advisories following Yakub's hanging

Four top private television news channels were issued advisories by the Information and Broadcasting ministry over the content of their programmes on the hanging of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha the advisories were issued last month.
According to the minister, 'NDTV India' was served a showcause notice over the content of a programme based on the hanging of Menon after which an advisory was issued on June 1.
'NDTV 24x7' was issued a showcause over the content of its programme - Truth vs Hype - the riddle of Yakub Memon followed by an advisory on June 1.
Two other leading hindi news channels - 'Aaj Tak' and 'ABP news' had both telecast an interview of underworld figure Chhota Shakeel in the context of hanging of Memon.
Advisories were issued to these two channels on June 7, according to the minister.
