The boy was killed at Bethari of Rupandehi district while seven others including four policemen were injured in the clashes, police said.
The incident occurred when Madhesi Front protestors pelted stones at police vehicles escorting three trucks loaded with commodities this evening.
Police initially fired tear gas cells at the protestors. But later fired bullets in the air and also fired rubber bullets at the crowd when they failed control the situation.
The boy was hit by a rubber bullet and later succumbed to his injuries.
Violent protests by Madheshi parties unhappy over the seven-province model proposed in the new constitution, have claimed nearly 40 lives including 11 police officers.
