"Nail scratches of animals were found on the walls. They could be of hyenas or leopards or other hunting animals, which scaled the six-foot brick wall and attacked the sheep flock on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday," BAU Director of Research D K Singh Dron said here today.
34 sheep died immediately after the attack, while six among 34 other injured sheep died by 10 AM today, he said.
"I was a student of BAU in 1971. I have never seen such incident till date," Dron said, adding the authorities are taking more precautionary measures for the enclosures where sheep are reared.
