474 civilians killed in Naxal violence in Gadchiroli since '82

As many as 474 civilians have been killed in Naxal violence in Gadchiroli since the district in eastern Maharashtra came into existence in 1982.
Police today issued a statement giving statistics about the loss of lives and property in violent Naxal activities in Gadchiroli district since 1982.
According to the statement, the total number of civiliandeaths in Naxal violence till now stood at 474. Also, 312 citizenswere injured.
As many as 191 policemen were martyred in line of duty and 511 injured in the Naxal-affected district, it said.
Similarly, government property worth Rs 10,70,30,299 was destroyed, while loss of private assets stood at Rs 18,50,07,016.
