A judicial inquiry has also been ordered into the matter.
Head constable Bhoop Singh, constables Rajesh, Sudeep, Uttam and Arvind were arrested today, police said.
According to the police, the accused picked up Manoj this afternoon in connection with a firing incident in the area which took place few days back.
Instead of taking Manoj to Bindapur police station, the accused took him to Old Matiyala police station where his health deteriorated, police said.
Manoj was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Agitated over the death, Manoj's family members and releatives held protest outside Bindapur police station, alleging that the accused cops brutally beat him up, which led to his death.
Police said that protestors also vandalised vehicles of some senior officials, adding that a case of murder and kidnapping has been registered at Bindapur police station.
