5 Indo-Canadians killed in car crash

Five members of an Indian-origin family, including two children have been killed in a high-speed car crash in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the family travelling in their sedan was rammed by a white minivan, which according to the police had sped through a red light.
The five deceased were identified in the local media as Pawandeep Arjot (31) her two children, Annish Sachdeva (5) and Jessica Sachdeva (3) her sister-in-law Neelam Dhingra (47) and her mother-in-law Vidya Sachdeva (68).
Pawandeep's husband Gurmeet owns an Indian sweet shop in the Surrey district of British Columbia.
The Sun News reported that the 46-year-old minivan driver, from Langley was the only survivor in the crash and is admitted in a local hospital. He is likely to be charged under the relevant laws.
It added that the sedan was ripped apart into two with the impact of the crash, killing the family instantly.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at the Riverside Funeral Home and Crematorium in Delta, the family said.
