"The car, coming from Mumbai, rammed into the truck from the rear side at Bhadreshwar village in Mundra Taluka on Gandhidham-Mundra Highway, around 300 km from here, said K B Zala, Sub-Inspector of Mundra Marine Police Station.
"Due to the impact, six men died on the spot, while one woman was critically injured," he said.
The victims were returning to their native homes at Dron village near Mandvi in the district, Zala said.
Foramben Beda who was injured in the mishap, was shifted to a hospital in Gandhidham, where she is being treated for multiple fractures, he said, adding the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.
"We have lodged an FIR against the unidentified truck driver for rash driving and started investigation," Zala added.
