The leopard dragged the girl into a forest yesterday evening, Forest Officer of Kalagarh Tiger Reserve Nishant Verma said.
The girl's friends informed the villagers, who rushed to the jungle to rescue her, Verma said, adding, her half-eaten body was found at night.
After getting information about the attack, officials of Rikhnikhal police station reached the village and sent the body for postmortem, he said.
Speculating that it might have been the same leopard which had injured another girl in nearby village few days ago, Verma said Forest Department has decided to set up two trap-cages to catch the leopard.
A compensation of Rs 3 lakh was granted to next of the kin of the victim by Forest Department.
