The victim identified as Maniram Singh, a former secretary of cooperative committee, was shot dead by the bike-borne persons in Jamui village here, Superintendent of Police Shiv Prasad Upadhyaya said.
Agitated over the incident, irate locals blocked road, which was later lifted on the assurance of the officers to arrest the accused soon, he said.
The motive behind the murder is not clear as of now, the SP said.
