While four persons were killed by falling trees, another died when a building collapsed. One person was drowned in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the regional civil affairs department said today.

Typhoon Kalmaegi, which is the fifteenth typhoon to hit China this year, made a landfall in Hainan at a speed of 40 meters per second at 9.40 AM yesterday and then Guangdong Province.
Direct economic losses in Guangdong were 1 billion yuan, the provincial civil affairs department said.
