7 killed in rain-related incidents in UP

Seven persons, including three children, were killed in separate rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.
While four persons died in separate incidents of house collapse due to rains and lightning in Hardoi, three children drowned after they slipped into a pit filled with water due to heavy rainfall in Bakshi ka Talab area of Lucknow yesterday, police said.
The children were identified as Anshit (10), Raj (10) and Himanshu (11).
According to MeT department, chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms is Neemsar-14, Moradabad-11, Shahjahanpur-6, Elgin Bridge (Barabanki) and Amroha-5 each, Mahoba and Moradabad-4 each.
Major rivers are also rising in the state due to rainfall.
According to a report by the Central Water commission, river Ramganga is rising in Moradabad, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur while river Yamuna is rising in Mathura, Agra and Auraiya.
River Sharda is flowing above danger mark in Paliakalan (Lakhimpur) and is near the mark at Shardanagar (Kheri) while Ghagra river is above red mark at Elgin Bride (Barabanki) and is rising in Turtipar (Ballia) and Ayodhya (Faizabad).
River Ganga is also rising in Fatehgarh, Dalmau (Raebareli), Ghazipur and Ballia, the Met department said, adding, rain or thundershowers could occur at isolated places in the state.
