Maximum 17 persons have been arrested from Arer and town police station area, Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said today.
He said the arrests have been made on the basis of video footages of the incidents.
Madhubani district had witnessed large-scale violence starting October 12 in the wake of police refusal to hand over a beheaded body to family of a school boy Prashant Kumar Jha.
The boy was later found with his girlfriend Preeti Chaudhary in Delhi and brought here. A district court sent the boy to a remand home in Darbhanga and the girl to her grandmother home.
Opposition RJD, LJP, Congress and Left parties had observed statewide bandh on October 15 to protest the incident. But, the boy and the girl were found in the evening of that day itself in Delhi.
