8 guns, 52 cartridges seized in Bhopal; seven held

Seven youth were arrested after eight hand guns and 52 cartridges of Italian 12-bore gun were allegedly seized from them in the city, police said today.
The illegal firearms were brought from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, Superintendent of Police (headquarters) Shashikant Shukla told reporters last evening.
Efforts were on to trace more such firearms and the network behind supplying it, Shukla said.
Those arrested from Karbala near Upper Lake in the city have been identified as Shakeel (24), Shafique (20), Vicky alia Sadique (26), Faiz (25), Faizan (25), Farroque (20) and Saad Khan (19), all from Bhopal, he said.
The kingpin Vicky was active for the last two years in the city, the SP said.
