8 killed in road mishap in Kishtwar

Eight people were killed and one injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into the Chenab river in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
The incident occurred today when the vehicle, which was on its way to Thathri from Drabshalla area of the district, skidded off the road and fell down into the Chenab river at around 12:45 PM today, SSP Kishtwar Sunil Kotwal said.
Six persons were killed on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries at hospital and another on way to Jammu, Kotwal said.
One person, who jumped out of the vehicle, got injured and was hospitalised, he added.
