In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and IATA.
Both sides have "joined together for providing a comprehensive e-billing solution to air navigation service providers and airport service providers for data gathering, e-invoicing and collection of tariff from airlines," AAI said in a release today.
AAI Member (Finance) S Suresh said the airport operator and IATA have more than a decade long association of invoicing and collection.
State-run AAI was accorded 'Miniratna' status in 2008, granting it the right to exercise its powers of autonomy in terms of investment in projects and forming joint ventures.
Of the 125 AAI airports, currently 95 are operational, with 70 of them having scheduled flights.
