Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, who is now administering Delhi after imposition of President's rule, today directed Delhi government officials continue with the anti-graft helpline set up by previous AAP government and follow policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.
During a meeting with the senior officials of departments of Delhi government, Jung ordered the functioning of the 1031 anti-corruption helpline will continue.
"The Anti corruption helpline should also continue and the call received should be attended promptly," said a press statement issued by Delhi Secretariat today.
However, Delhiites calling on the helpline number to register their complaints will not be greeted by former chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's voice as earlier.
During the meeting, it was decided that his voice will be removed.
Moreover, instead of AAP volunteers, government employees will be supervising the anti-corruption number lines.
According to Secretariat sources, there is no data of how many calls were received on the helpline since its inception.
Jung instructed the officials to take all steps to ensure speedy delivery of various services and provide good governance.
Kejriwal had on January 8 launched the helpline number to deal with corruption and had promised action within 24 hours of sting operation to expose graft.
