The AAP has claimed that tension in the Atali village of Haryana was preceded by a rally of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, alleging a connect between the two events.
"On May 18 there was a rally in the nearby Mona village where Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar addressed a rally. After that tension prevailed in that area.
"Six days after the meeting, on May 25, a crowd of two thousand people attacked houses belonging to a particular community. The mob comprised outsiders," a fact-finding report, which was made public by the party today, stated.
The four-member "fact-finding team" comprised party's Uttam Nagar and Okhla MLAs Naresh Balyan and Amanatullah Khan, Abhas Chandela and Feroz Khan.
The party said it will submit its report to the National Human Right Commission (NHRC).
In its preliminary report, the team has also condemned the BJP-led Haryana government's "indifference" towards the plight of the victims, who, they said, "were forced to flee their homes and spend nights in tents".
At least five persons were injured and around 15 houses gutted after a clash erupted between two communities over construction of a religious structure at Atali in Faridabad on May 25.
Several victims had been staying at a makeshift camp at Ballabhgarh police station ever since the violence.
