Kendrekar, a 2002 batch IAS officer is presently posted in Aurangabad as chief administrator of City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) Ltd.
During his 17-month tenure in Beed district, Kendrekar had taken action against illegal constructions, the water tanker mafia and the sand mafia.
"A few days ago, I met him (Kendrekar) at his house and told him that he must contest the Lok Sabha election on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket, from the Beed district constituency. He seemed to be willing, but his family did not agree with his decision. To persuade him, we will organise a rally in front of his house in Aurangabad on January 15, 2014," Anjali Damania said, speaking at a press conference in Beed city today.
