Union Home Ministry's Joint Secretary (Northeast) Sambhu Singh assured this to All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) President Kamta Lapung, when the latter called on him at New Delhi yesterday, a press release informed here today.
Lapung through a memorandum drew the central government's attention towards the sufferings of the indigenous people because of the ongoing turf wars between both the factions of the NSCN for area dominance.
The ceasefire agreement between the Centre and the NSCN has not been extended to Arunachal Pradesh.
Lapung urged the Centre to stop lip service and take tangible steps to instill confidence in the minds of the people of the state to which Singh assured to streamline the law and order situation in the districts by deploying additional forces from April onwards, the release said.
