Dayal, 1997-batch officer, who had handled assignments in the home ministry and the CRPF has been deputed to the CBI as Chief Information Officer for a period of three years.
The post of Chief Information Officer was lying vacant since Devpreet Singh left the organisation on December 30, 2016. The CBI Press Information Officer R K Gaur was holding the additional charge of the post.
Presently, Dayal is posted with the Press Information Bureau as the Director, Media and Communication.
Dayal, 47, had also served in the PIB unit of the Prime Minister's Office and in Colombo as All India Radio correspondent.
As head of news operations for All India Radio in Colombo, he had covered some important assignments, including the upheaval and election in the Maldives, and the presidential election in Sri Lanka.
