A man, who has allegedly shot dead an 11-year-old Dalit boy for refusing to wash plates at a roadside eatery in neighbouring Shamli district three days ago, has been arrested.
The accused, Jagpal, was arrested yesterday from Shamli railway station and the weapon used in the crime has also been recovered, Superintendent of Police Abdul Hameed said today.
The boy, a child labour, was shot dead on August 28, police said, adding that the owner of the eatery has also been booked.
Police has registered a case against Jagpal under sections of the IPC as well as the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act in this connection.
