"Acer is the first company in the world to launch Windows 8.1 version based 7.9 inch tablet PC. With a similar offering with Android OS, we are expecting to garner a market share of 12 per cent during this calendar year," S Rajendran, chief marketing officer of Acer India told reporters here today.
He said that the cheap tablet PC produced by Chinese companies have been vanishing from the market as they are getting BIS certification from the government.
Rajendran said that there has been a churning in the tablet PC market as shipments during the October, November and December quarter has dipped to 65,000 units as compared to one million units during January to March last calendar year.
The tablet PC market size in India is expected to touch three million units.
