"...To ensure fair and impartial decisions and the safety and health of Pro boxers in and outside the ring, there is a requirement to identify, train and qualify Referees and Judges and Ringside Physicians...," IBC President Brig. P K Muralidharan Raja said in a statement.
Brig Raja said 90 per cent of professional boxing referees and judges around the world have originally worked at the amateur level before who have switching over.
Brig Raja said a separate Workshop to train freshers to become 1 Star IBC referees and judges will be held separately in Pune in November-December.
In case of, ringside physicians, IBC is open to all MBBS doctors who can treat as well as take decisions to render first aid or help the referee in deciding stoppages of the bout keeping in mind the safety of the boxers.
