The newly-launched flight will be operated by the Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 162 seats, including 12 seats in business class, Air India said in a statement.
The Airbus A320neo is fuel efficient and is highly environment friendly with reduced noise levels and emits 50 per cent less CO2.
The aircraft is one of the four procured by the airline this year out of the total 22 A320neos it plans to induct in its fleet by 2019.
Air India serves 41 international and 72 national destinations. It has a total of 103 aircraft in its fleet, which comprises of 61 narrow-bodied Airbus planes and 42 wide-bodied Boeing planes.
