The Election Commission has seized Rs 100 crore in Tamil Nadu till yesterday after the model couduct of code came and claimed the majority of the amount was seized from those belonging to DMK and AIADMK, CPI (M) state secetary G Ramakrishnan told reporters here.
This clearly indicated that both the parties have lost confidence in their performance and also election manifesto and instead believe in bribing the electorate to garner votes, he alleged.
Due to the globalisation and privatisation policies adoped by the Centre, the agricultural land has gone down by 14 lakh acre, which resulted in the reduction of productivity, leading to utilising the land for real estate and other business, he pointed out.
Stating that both the Congress and BJP governments failed to adopt the M S Swaminathan recommendations on fixing the prices for agricultural produce, Ramakrishnan said that if the alliance came to power, a target of 10 per cent growth will be set in the five years, for which an action plan also has been drawn.
