Hundreds of AIADMK workers, led by Tamil Nadu Minister Sellur Raju, today took out a padayatra from the Meenakshi shrine to Lord Muruga's temple at Tiruparankunram, about eight km from here.
The AIADMK workers had vowed to go on padayatra to Lord Muruga's temple if party leader Jayalalithaa was acquitted in the disproportionate assets case.
As part of fulfilling their vow, they took out the padayatra to the Tiruparankunram temple.
The minister led the padayatris chanting the name of Lord Muruga.
