"Unfortunately, during years 2012-13 and 2013-14 some people had misguided some of the students and they did not reach the right college where they had got admission. The students should face no difficulty and the aim with which the scheme was started has to be upheld. The AICTE is working on that," Javadekar told reporters here.
Responding to questions related to problems faced by students from J&K regarding Centre's scholarships, Javadekar said that the AICTE is studying all the cases of the students who had come.
The HRD minister said that this year a "robust system" has been put in place and the number of admissions has also been increased from 2 to 10 per college under the Prime Minister's Scholarship scheme.
So 2,000 more admissions in engineering are happening, he said.
Last week Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Javadekar had met a group of students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in various universities in the country, and assured them that difficulties being faced by them with regard to academics will be resolved soon.
