Air jingles portraying women positively: Govt to FM channels

The Information and Broadcasting ministry has asked FM radio stations to broadcast at least twice a day jingles related to equality and positive depiction of women in the media.
In an advisory, the ministry said that the Usha Mehra commission has recommended that there should be programmes on radio and TV which convey the message that women need to be treated with respect and quality.
The ministry advised private radio stations to broadcast jingles on positive portrayal of women.
