The channel will be launched by Prasar Bharati chairman A Suryaprakash.
The channel which will be available globally through Direct to Home (DTH), web streaming and on mobile app (All India Radio Live), will feature rich variety of classical music of different genres belonging to both Hindustani and Carnatic tradition, a statement released here said.
Classical music forms a substantial part of daily programme menu of AIR stations and national programmes featuring classical music like Ravivaariya Sangeet Sabha are very popular, the statement added.
