A plane of IndiGo Airlines from Delhi hit the lights on the edge of the runway of Bengaluru International Airport tonight after landing during heavy rain.
A BIA spokesperson said the 6E125 flight of IndiGo Airlines from Delhi landed on time at around 8.45 PM. "It damaged 3-4 runway edge lights", the spokesperson said.
In order to replace them, take-off and landing at the airport was closed for about two hours.
BIA officials suspected poor visibility because of heavy downpour might be the reason for the incident but hastened to add that only an investigation would throw light on it.
