In a step towards the rehabilitation of those affected by the Navi Mumbai International Airport, the state planning body CIDCO today said the first lottery for compensatory land allotment will be held on August 15.
CIDCO chairman Pramod Hindurao made the announcement at a press conference here today.
CIDCO Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Bhatia, Joint Managing Director V Radha and Director Namdeo Bhagat were also present on this occasion.
Bhatia said so far 70 villagers whose lands would be acquired had given consent letters.
The project affected persons (PAPs) have to submit consent letters for the rehabilitation package by July 23, so that they can take part in the lottery.
CIDCO, the nodal agency for the airport project, has agreed to allot 22.5 per cent of the developed land to those whose lands would be acquired.
The site at Pushpaknagar, where plots will be allotted to PAPs, is being reclaimed and levelling work is on, Radha said.
