An electorate of 17,582 would exercise franchise in 19 polling stations from 7 AM till 4 PM tomorrow to decide the fates of three candidates - Lal Thanzara of the ruling Congress, K Vanlalvena of Mizo National Front (MNF) and Lalduhawma of National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
While the Congress and the Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) forged a pre-poll alliance and the NDA comprised of the Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and the BJP, the MNF contested without any alliance.
The by-poll was necessitated by the resignation of former Health minister and the present Congress nominee Lal Thanzara on August 18 last due to allegations of 'conflict of interests'.
