Ajay Kini suspended, licence withdrawn for rash driving

Bangalore-based Ajay Kini was suspended for a month and his licence withdrawn for "bumping from behind" in the LGB Rolon event in the JK Tyre National Road Racing Championship that concluded here today.
Seasoned driver Sharan Vikram protested for being hit from the behind by Kini and the Stewards, a recommendatory body under the umbrella of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs in India (FMSCI), decided to suspend Kini for the next round.
Vikram brought to the Clerk of the Course's (COC) notice that Kini, a pilot by profession with Indigo Airlines, hit his car in the first corner during a Formula LGB 4 race this morning. Akbar Ebrahim, the COC, spent a lot of time in deciding on the protest against Kini before referring the matter to Stewards.

The Stewards, on their part, called Kini for an inquiry after having been convinced upon viewing the video of the incident but he refused to sign and acknowledge the notice sent to him.
Later, Kini reasoned out that accidentally the cable got stuck in the car and brakes locked.
The Stewards questioned him as to why he did not withdraw from the race and got back to pits but continued overtaking other cars before finishing the event in the fourth place.
Stewards opined that Kini's action was counted as "dangerous situation" in continuing to race after his car's brake got locked and considered his action of refusing to learn from his mistakes as violation of race standards especially after he was penalised on two occasions in yesterday races -- overall having been involved in three incidents in two days.

The Stewards' decision has been forwarded to the FMSCI.
